Concerts, Love, and Other Updates

I told myself that I had a whole lot to write. But honestly, there isn't a *ton* to say! My partner's been up a few times. One visit was intentionally relaxed. We got a hotel room with a kitchen, bought groceries, and cooked all of our meals together for a day. It's wonderful having a partner who loves to cook and clean, and is happy to do so WITH me. So much I wish they lived up here. So much I wish that we'd come into this relationship sooner, but I know we were different people back then, and at different points in our lives. But I have no doubt this is the person I'm meant to be with. We communicate wonderfully, work through problems like a true team, and support each other. It makes me sad that I haven't truly experienced something like this before...but, we're here now. And we're working on making things work, and working towards a future we're so excited for. I won't go on and on...but. Everything feels finally right, and I'm genuinely so happy and so very, deeply in love.

In less happy news, all of the trees from the empty lots, where houses had burned down and/or been sold/condemmed have been cut down. The street I grew up on looks nothing like it did from my childhood anymore. Soon, construction on a high-rise will begin. It's a good thing I'm already looking for an apartment with my partner...Watching this street get worse and worse and father removed from my memories has been so painful. It's time to leave.

On the second visit of the month, we went to the Ninja Sex Party concert. It was a pretty new experience for me, and we had a blast! I danced and sang in a public space and cheered my little heart out. It's not really my scene, but I did enjoy myself all the same.

We tried out a new restaurant, Salt and Steak. For the first hour (service was slow, but we didn't mind much) we were the only people there. The food was phenomenal, and reasonably priced. Well, desserts were a bit pricy, I guess. But soooooo good. We'll definitely be going back.

Now, my partner is off on an Alaskan cruise with their family. They took one of our shared stuffed animals, Maximoose, on the cruise and have been taking photos here and there. Apparently Maximoose is quite the hit aboard the ship. I wish I could be there, but it's nice to hear all the fun things they're up to. One of these days, we'll go on a cruise of our own!
